Last night was a long night for Alex and her Dad. Alex woke up at her usual 11pm late night feed but didn't seem to want to drink the milk, instead cried. It's getting close to teething time so we thought that's what might have been bothering her. At 5.00am and after sevral attempts to feed her, quieten her, rock her etc. etc. nothing seemed to help. Finally after a close inspection of the bottle nothing was coming through the tiny hole even when she sucked hard. Once we changed the cap she gulped the milk and then fell asleep along with her Dad. Seeing her Dad is doing the post the photo of them sleeping won't get posted. Sorry! Here's a photo later in the day getting ready to take a walk.

She was full of beans and was enjoying the walk the entire time.

This photo was when we arrived home.

Later in the night Alex played with her mother on the bed.

She's getting more and more comfortable on her stomach.

Alex went to both swims today and stayed awake through them. When she is at home she has been taking about 2hrs to sip on a bottle of milk, she does it with her eyes closed, but opens them and gets fusy if the bottle is removed. Hopefully is a teething stage because it's a challenge to hold the bottle in her mouth for that long! Today she also did some work on her crawling ability.

Later in the afternoon we all took a walk to walmart and Alex sucked on her shirt most of the way.

Of course she was having fun as she sucked!

Mum went for a bike ride to watch the Cohasset Triathlon, so Dad and Alex played on the computer watching youtube songs and following our Friends Carolyn, Bob and Alberta racing Ironman Triathlon in Nice, France.

It wasn't the best day to be outside so Alex stayed inside and played with everything and anything we could find. The colourful play pen is getting well used.

There was quite a bit of sleeping today so hopefully Alex will sleep through the night.

Another good nights sleep for Alex followed by a good morning 's sleep until 9.00am which meant everyone was well rested to start the day off. There was tummy time, listening to music time and then a good hour spent in the round swival chair. Alex is starting to play with everything and was practicing spinning on her own.

You can see she was having fun and 1 hour of it!

After all the activities of the day which included a trip to the 4.30pm swim, she needed to take a nap sometimes keeping an eye on things with her partly closed right eye.

Friday, June 26, 2009

Alex made it to the 5.30am swim this morning, slept through most of it and then the same for the 11.00am swim. Later in the afternoon she took a walk with her Mum to the Post Office. She got a little hungry on the way home and had to call her Dad for a ride home and a milk delivery.

Alex as been doing a lot of squirming lately. She is also bending her head forward a lot when she is picked up. Also getting better at being on her stomach.

It won't be too much longer before she is crawling by the looks of this photo.

She is putting a lot of effort into it spending a good 10mins on her tummy.

Thursday, June 25, 2009

Alex had another good nights sleep and actually slept through until 9.00am (which was fine by Dad) Once she woke up there was plenty to do. The usual swing time, reading and listening to music to get things going. And then it was time to try the colourfull play area that sits on the floor.

Alex had a lot of fun playing with all the different things. It even had music when she touched certain things. After a while she fell asleep for another hour.

Once she woke up we loaded things up in the stroller and went for the 1hr return journey to the post office. It was nice out and warmed up quite a bit on the way home. We had to stop for a quick drink of milk. (Dunkin Donuts just happened to be close by so it worked out for Dad too).

She didn't quite polish off the bottle so after a few smile's it was continue toward home.

A quick look in as we were moving and Alex got herself comfortable.

By the time we were home she had fallen asleep and rested that way in the garage as her Dad gave it a tidy up.

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

This morning Alex was up early for the 5.30am swim. She satyed awake for half and then slept for the other half. When she got home she was watching baby song video's on youtube on the computer. And then it was time for the 11.00am swim. After that she got to play with her book that she can chew on.

She gets a good grab and plays with it for a while.

Later when her mother came home she did some hanging out on the recliner chair.

Another wet rainy day which means no walks for Alex. We had to find something else to do so she got to try out the swivel seat that our friend Charlie gave her.

The last time she sat in this her feet weren't able to touch the ground, so it was just in and out. But now they touch and she stayed in it for quite a while playing with the various attachments.

It's soon going to be her favorite pastime. Also today she listened to some music, read a few books and had some good swings in her swing. Later in the night she had a bath and then up to watch a little TV before bed.

Monday, June 22, 2009

Alex was 3months old today. With the rainy weather this morning she stayed in bed with her mother instead of going to the 5.30am swim. She got a little wet getting to the 11.00am swim but soon fell asleep poolside. Later in the afternoon she got to suck on some fresh mango and then a hersheys kiss (see photo below).

In the afternoon she got to play with her mother and work on her smiles.

And then a few sitting up excercises to help with the neck control.

Sunday, June 21, 2009

Today was Fathers day and Alex was awake bright and early at 6.00am with a gift and card for Dad. A new Video Camera so we can start filming our fun times as a family. Dad was so busy playing with it all day that he forgot to take any photo's for the blog.
Here's one from this afternoon watching the movie channel.

And then watching another movie and falling asleep part way through (just like her mother does!)

Saturday, June 20, 2009

We didn't get time for a post yeasterday. Alex was in a fun mood with plenty of smiling, playing and swinging. She has finanlly lost the snifles so is feeling 100%. Now in the big swing, she likes it pushed as fast as possible and she is able to play with the toys on it as well.

Once her mum was home from work it was time for another nap.

We went for an outing to the blue hills this morning and Alex was dressed in a hoddie that kept her warm!

She was pretty happy when we returned home and was awake for the rest of the day until half way through master's swim. Soon after this photo she fell asleep for the evening.

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Today was a big sleep day for Alex. She pretty much woke up at 6am had some food and then back to sleep. Direct TV had free movies today so Alex ate a little, watched a little TV (maybe alot) and slept a bit. Her favourite movie of the day was "World According to Garp" (with Robin Williams). When her mother came home from work they both sat down and watched a movie together.

Alex also spills a little milk under her neck through out the day and it smells a bit after a while. So it was upstairs to get ready for a little sponge neck bath.

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

"Nurse Maids Elbo", that's what the Pediatrition called the condition Alexandra had today. It happened this morning when her Dad was checking her neck strength buy pulling her up with her arms and then a little click happened in her left arm which lead to some crying. Luckily Bob Falconi was visiting and helped out until her mother came home. A little arm twist by the pediatrition and she was fine again. Aparently it happens a lot! But there will be no more pulling on her arms for a while to come! Here's a photo after everything was over and back to normal.

Alex also got to go out for a walk to the post office in the warm afternoon sun. (left arm working fine!)

And then another photo looking down to see how she was doing during the trip.

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

Alex has had a bit of a sniffle the last few days and today she wasn't as energetic as usual. She fell asleep for two hours in the swing which seemed to help! Besides that she got to go for a walk in the buggy. Her Dad gets to look down on her as she is being pushed and she looks back up. Here's a view of what she looks like whilst being pushed. (without the hat she looks like an Alien! I will get a photo at another time.)

Another photo excepted flipped unpright.

Monday, June 15, 2009

In another week Alexandra will be 3months old. She is devolping new skills all the time. Floating on her back in the tub, kicking her legs, laying on her side, observing everything and just recently she has been putting things in her mouth. (mainly her finger's and hands!)
Tonight she took a hold of this ball.

And then tried to put it in her mouth.

Sunday, June 14, 2009

Alexandra turned 12 Weeks today! She didn't do much, just the usual this and that. We were curious to see what she measured and 25inches was the length but she is filling out and growing out of all her clothes.

Here's a photo when she was 2 days old and ready to leave the hospital. How quickly things are changing.

And another from that same day.

This photo is when she was less than a week old and slept with her arms stretched behind her. She still sleeps like that!
